Preparing for Your Dog Training Session

Thank you for choosing our dog training services. To ensure that your session goes smoothly, we have provided some guidelines for you to follow. Your undivided attention and focus are required to create the best session possible for everyone involved.

prepare Your Dog

We use primary rewards during training, which often involves yummy treats. Please let us know beforehand if your dog has any allergies. Avoid feeding your dog right before the session, or feed them half a meal if their feeding time is a while before the session. We can also use a portion of their ordinary food as treats if you want them to stay on a certain diet. Avoid giving them a full meal or making them sleepy before a potentially active session. Take your dog for a short walk before the session to allow them to go to the toilet.

prepare Yourself

Please be present during the session and avoid any distractions like having your phone around and not on silent. If other people or family members regularly interact with your dog, it's a good idea to have them join in on the session to avoid confusing the dog. We want everyone using the same communication tools. Write down any questions you have beforehand, and keep a notepad handy to take notes. We'll send you a summary of the session after it's completed.

prepare Your Space

We'll need to sit down in a quiet area at the start of the session, such as the kitchen/dining area, living room, or outside if you prefer that. Turn off any distractions, like the TV or music, we want to create a calm and quiet environment for your dog so as to make learning as distraction free at possible Bring out any favourite toys your dog has, they might come in handy, and have your leash nearby in case we need to use it. We generally don’t need a lot of space so don’t worry if you have a smaller space.

prepare the Children

Children around the age of 7-9 usually will understand the broad concepts of dog training and will be able to join in and train with the dog. Children younger than this can of course still join in on the session but be aware that they might loose interest quickly and/or not understand parts of what is said. In the case of younger children, ensure their needs are met before the session starts and have something else for them to do if they want to leave and play on their own.

You can pay in cash or via bank transfer (Revolut or Wise) at the end of the first session.

We're excited to work with you and your dog!
